Description:   opportunities to participate in hands-on education and training related to the Department of Commerce

Eligibility:  U.S. Citizens Only. undergraduate and graduate students

Location(s):   District of Columbia, Georgia, and Illinois. Department of Commerce headquarters, Department of Commerce division offices, and field centers

Duration:   10 weeks in the summer; 15 weeks during fall or spring semester

Frequency:  continuing

Awards made:  number varies

Deadline(s):  January 31 for summer; July 1 for fall semester; December 1 for spring semester. Note: Deadlines are listed above, however applications will be accepted on a continuing basis throughout the year and will be considered past the deadline if positions are still available.

Benefits:  weekly stipend of $500 for undergraduates; $600 for graduate students; $150 per week housing allowance and limited travel reimbursement; accidental medical expense coverage provided
