Description:   Opportunities to participate in research in such areas as environmental health engineering, occupational and environmental health, industrial hygiene and worksite hazards, psychology, and laboratory services, advanced manufacturing technology programs, new materials processes for use in aerospace applications, aerospace medicine, science and technology, and human systems integration

Discipline(s):   life, health, and medical sciences; mathematics; physical sciences; earth, environmental, and marine sciences; social and behavioral sciences; engineering

Eligibility:  U.S. Citizens and Legal Permanent Residents. undergraduate and graduate students; postgraduates who have completed degree within the last three years; faculty members; and retired scientists.

Location(s):   Various locations across U. S. Wright Patterson Air Force Base, OH; Brooks Air Force Base, Texas; Mesa, AZ; Tyndall Air Force Base, FL; Haven, CT and other approved locations

Duration:   Appointments made up to one year, full-time or part-time; renewable up to a total of three years full-time participation for postgraduates; renewable up to a total of five years full-time participation for postdoctorates

Frequency:  Continuing

Awards made:  Number varies

Deadline(s):  Applications accepted on year-round basis

Benefits:  Negotiable stipend based upon regular salary; limited travel reimbursement (round trip transportation expenses between facility and home or campus)

Funding source(s):  U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory through an interagency agreement with the U.S. Department of Energy
