Description:   The Research Participation Program for the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Chemical Defense (USAMRICD) provides opportunities to participate in USAMRICD on-going applied research and development projects. USAMRICD is the Department of Defense’s lead laboratory for the execution of medical chemical defense research. As a subordinate element of the U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command (USAMRMC), the institute conducts research involving the development, testing, and evaluation of medical counter-measures to the effects of various chemical warfare agents.

Eligibility:  U.S. Citizens Only. high school students; undergraduate and graduate students; postgraduates (BS, MS, and PhDs)who have completed degree within the last five years; college or university full-time faculty; K-12 educators; other scientists

Location(s):   Maryland. U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Chemical Defense (Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD)

Duration:   Appointments made up to one year, full-time or part-time; renewable up to a total of three years full-time participation for postgraduates; renewable up to a total of five years full-time participation for postdoctorates

Frequency:  continuing

Awards made:  number varies

Deadline(s):  applications accepted on year-round basis

Benefits:  stipend based on research area(s) and academic classification; faculty appointment stipends based on regular salary
