Description:
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Research Opportunity Program is designed to provide opportunities to conduct research in DHS mission relevant areas at DHS designated venues. These include both DHS laboratories and DHS-supported Centers of Excellence at selected universities. Participants are expected to conduct research related to the DHS mission.

Eligibility:
U.S. Citizens Only. However, citizens of Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom are eligible to apply. The DHS Research Opportunity Program will provide opportunities for faculty, scientists, engineers and other professionals at research and development organizations. Researchers in science, technology, mathematics and engineering fields are eligible; some in other fields will be eligible if it is judged that their proposed research is relevant to the DHS mission.

Center for Risk and Economic Analysis of Terrorism Events (CREATE) at the University at Southern California;
National Center for Food Protection and Defense (NCFPD) at the University of Minnesota;
National Center for Foreign Animal and Zoonotic Disease Defense (NCFAZD) at Texas Agricultural and Mining University;
Center for the Study of Preparedness and Catastrophic Event Response (PACER) at Johns Hopkins University;
National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism (START) at the University of Maryland;
Center for Advancing Microbial Risk Assessment (CAMRA) at Michigan State University
