Academies Creating Teacher-Scientists Professional Development Program (ORNL)

Description:   Teachers spend three 8-week summers in research experiences with ORNL leading scientists. The experiences are supplemented by different enrichment activities each summer to focus the research. The combination of research and enrichment activities assists teachers in developing ideas, resources, and materials to engage and excite students. Teachers gain insight into the practical alignment of national science standards with curriculum and teaching strategies and renew their enthusiasm for science.
