Description:
The NGA Visiting Scientist Program solicits applications from current students, postdoctoral researchers and faculty members for full-time residency appointments to conduct research into the use of process models and tools to support NGA's GEOINT analysis. Visiting Scienctists exploit and analyze imagery, intelligence, and geospatial information to describe, assess, and characterize physical features and a wide range of geographically referenced activities on the Earth.

geography, statistics, economics, geospatial information science, physics, mathematics, chemistry, or a closely related field.
Eligibility:
U.S. Citizens Only. All immediate family (to include parents, siblings, children, and cohabitants) must be U.S. citizens. Top Secret security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information required. This process may take up to 6 months; Academic studies in a relevant area, as described above.

Benefits:
Stipend and potential relocation allowance. Appointments range from three months (summer appointment) to a semester (university expert on sabbatical) to a full year, with an option for two additional years.
